Congratulations to D3O rider Sam Lowes on his podium finish in the 16th round of the Moto2™ world championships in Phillip Island, Australia.

During the course of the Australian GP, Sam appeared to be the only rider able to match the pace of Alex Rins, ultimately going onto achieve a 2nd place finish.

With the race securing his second best result of the season, Sam was evidentially delighted with how the weekend turned out:

‘In the race we changed the gearing a little so when I came onto the straight they came by me and I thought this was going to be a disaster after going the wrong direction. It worked well during the lap but down the straight it was impossible. A little mistake on our side, it was just a tooth longer than we had in practice. You know I was pushing to keep what we had in practice but you just know with the slipstream because the other ratio was too short. Rins (Alex) had better pace than me all weekend so fair play to him. To get 20 points is really good and I love this place, it’s nice for me”.
