Sponsored D3O rider, Sam Lowes, raced to his first podium finish of the season at the Termas De Rio Hondo track, Argentina.

Starting from pole position, Lowes had been in a four-bike race with Johann Zarco, Franco Morbidelli and Jonas Folger right from the off – finishing in 2nd position and setting the fastest lap of the race with three to go.

Lowes now sits 3rd overall in the Championship following the 20 points obtained in Argentina.

“The conditions were not easy today, but I had a good pace so I was expecting to do a strong race today. I was in the lead for several laps and it’s definitely a nice feeling, then with 5 laps to go I made a small mistake that made me lose contact with Zarco and therefore I didn’t have the opportunity to attack him in the final laps. After the mistake however I was fast and I managed to quickly pass Morbidelli in front of me, so I’m satisfied.” Sam Lowes, Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 team.

Sam’s next race will take place on April 10th at the Circuit of the Americas, USA.
